Pastor Dan and Joyce have served as the pastors of Buena Vista since 1997. They were married in November 1968, after being high school sweethearts. They have four children and eleven grandchildren. They were saved in the Elmira Wesleyan Church in 1972 and after attending Houghton College, entered the ministry in 1976. They have enjoyed watching God build His church in Buena Vista, in this beautiful rural setting.
Pastor Dan is an outdoorsman. He loves building, hunting and fishing. He built the log home Joyce and he live in from trees he planted as a boy. He spends much time on Keuka Lake on his boat (appropriately named "Visitation"), taking many others to experience the beauty of the Finger Lakes.
Pastor Dan looks forward to continued service in the Lord and to the people of Buena Vista, to the glory of God!

Pastor Josiah Roloson, Pastor of Youth and Connection Email: email@example.com
Pastor Josiah and his wife Lauren married on December 19th, 2015. Pastor Josiah grew up in Avon, NY, a small town south of Rochester. When he felt the call to ministry at the age of 14, he decided to follow this call to Houghton College. During his freshman year he met Lauren. She was originally from Hamburg, NY and graduated from Houghton College in 2015 with a Bachelor’s degree in music education. Pastor Josiah graduated a semester early in December 2014 with a Bachelor’s degree in Christian Formation with a youth concentration.
When Josiah isn’t teaching or leading the youth ministry he enjoys learning and reading; sometimes you will see a stack of ten books next to him that he is reading through. Other times, you’ll see him catching up on his favorite TV shows like Agents of SHIELD, The Flash, or anything remotely involving super heroes. Josiah also enjoys spending time outside fishing, camping, and hunting. While his height of 6’4” might fool you into thinking he must be a great basketball player, he is not coordinated at all, but he will still shoot some hoops with you.
Most of all, Josiah does everything and anything to show teens the love of Christ. Whether it’s by letting teens shove a pie in his face or by praying with them, Josiah shows God’s love the only way he knows how: by being the light of Christ to those who need it most.

Pastor Stan grew up on the family dairy farm in Jasper New York. At the age of 16 while attending a revival service, Jesus called him into a personal salvation. Pastor Stan shares that as a young man he was constantly challenged by God to overcome his shyness and serve the Lord through music, prayer and public speaking. As Pastor of Worship he would like to encourage the Youth and Young Adults of the church to accept the promptings and challenges of God to serve. He looks forward to helping to raise them up into future leadership within the Worship Teams while leading our current teams into further development of the gifts and talents God has given.

My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord watches over you— the Lord is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.
Mary & Matt began attending Buena Vista Wesleyan in 2009 and live outside Bath, New York. They met at Ithaca College where they were both studying Physical Therapy and married May 19, 1989 in Chautauqua. After starting to raise their 3 kids in Warren Pennsylvania, God led them to the Bath area and their little log cabin on the hill. Mary loves singing, reading, gardening and helping her husband work on their home. Unfortunately for Matt this means she makes plans and starts a project that they have to finish together. Matt still works in the area as a physical therapist doing home and outpatient rehab and loves to work on cars. Mary feels truly blessed to work as the Church’s Secretary/Office Administrator. Her favorite part of the job is the time she gets to spend in prayer and helping others. She just loves to make people smile.
